8:00 AM midtide and dropping — 2-3' and smaller than yesterday, but still a shortboard wave

8:00 AM midtide and dropping at 32nd Street. The swell backed off overnight so it's 2-3 feet now with the occasional better set, definitely smaller than yesterday but still enough to ride a shortboard. Light east wind at 5 mph is putting a little bump on the face, nothing that ruins it. Sets are still coming through with some shape and there are corners to work with if you get out there before it keeps sliding. Get it while it's here. Athena did her rounds through the morning glories on the dune and gave it the nod. Pretty morning out there with the clouds stacking up offshore, so keep an eye on the sky later.
