Small & Glassy 1-2' for the 4th — Break Out the Big Boards
Happy Independence Day, folks! It's a mellow one out there this morning — sitting 1-2' and a little closing-outy near shore, so it's not the barreling festival we had yesterday. But it's clean and glassy with SW winds barely stirring at 2 mph, and it's already hot, so it's a gorgeous morning to be on the beach. The good news: conditions should tidy up and improve as the incoming hightide fills in, so this is a longboard/log kind of day — dust off the big boards and go glide. Sea oats are glowing, the beach sunflowers are popping, and the turtle nests are marked and quiet. Whatever you get into today, celebrate safely, look out for each other, and enjoy the surf on the 4th of July!
